I feed my pet a homemade diet. Will Because Animals’ Superfood Supplement provide my pet with all of the essential nutrients that might be lacking from their food?
No. Because Animals’ Superfood Supplement was not designed as a complete vitamin and mineral supplement. We recommend that you consult with a veterinary nutritionist to help formulate a nutritionally-complete and balanced diet for your pet.
What is the ratio of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids in each of Because Animals’ Superfood Supplements?
As is the case for humans, consuming the proper balance of dietary omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids is important for cats and dogs. Current recommendations are for ratios of 10:1 to 5:1 for omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, respectively. Most commercial pet foods contain too much omega-6 fatty acid relative to omega-3 fatty acid, so adding an additional source of omega-3 fatty acid is often recommended.
